  • At Awujo, we're all about bringing the Yoruba language and culture to life – with a playful twist! Our events are a mix of learning and socializing, including lively game nights, cultural workshops, and language mixers where you can practice Yoruba without pressure.

  • Most events are open to all levels, from beginners to those who can already speak some Yoruba. Some events are tailored to specific levels, so make sure to check the event description before signing up.

  • We keep our class sizes small (maximum of 6 students) to ensure personalized attention and plenty of opportunities to practice speaking Yoruba in a supportive environment.

  • Before you sign up, take our online placement test to find your right level. If you find your class too easy or too difficult, let us know and we'll help you find a better fit. Please note, we cannot offer refunds after you attend the first class.

  • Yes! Class recordings will be available in your class slides a few days after the lesson.

  • It depends on factors like your previous language learning experience and how much time you dedicate to practice. Our advice: enjoy the process and make Yoruba part of your everyday life.

  • Yes, your teacher will assign a reasonable amount of homework to reinforce what you’ve learned and help you practice outside of class.

  • If you miss a group class, we'll try to fit you into another class at the same level if space allows. Otherwise, you can catch up by watching the class recording.
